1 in 5 Law Firms Admit to Failures in Service Delivery

A new research report, published by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) on 17th September 2014 reveals the wide range of education and training processes used across the legal profession. One chapter covers “Identifying Risks and Managing Failures in Competent Delivery of Legal Services”. Almost a fifth of law firms (19%) admit to providing a substandard service at some point in the past year, with extra training for staff the common response. The report identified “failures in competent legal services delivery” in the preceding 12 months. Of them, 64% had had no more than four incidents, but 13% recorded 10 or more. The report did not investigate their severity.
